Hasn’t the weather just been glorious in the UK? It’s like the summer has arrived early!

One client mentioned that she thought we might be taking some time off to enjoy the weather, but it’s been the complete opposite: we’ve been out of the office most days because everybody wants to film & shoot now!

We’ve been waiting for such weather to film with a new client: New Barns Caravan Park in Arnside.

If you’re local to the area, you might recognise the Bob-In, which is their on site cafe (if you’ve been you’ll certainly remember the food, it’s brilliant!).

With the right weather we set to filming on land and in the sky; and what a day it was.

Along for the ride was Jen Grimes, a talented student at University of Leeds who is studying Film and Photography. She brought some wonderful ideas to the shoot, and helped us negotiate the magical, but maze-like site. Her enthusiasm and confidence made her a treat to work with.

The site itself was a photographer’s paradise: so many incredible places and sheer variety. This made fitting it all in a real challenge.

We used our Mavic 2 Pro drone for aerial video and photography, and the Lumix GH5 for ground and gimbal work. For the slider shots we used our Edelkrone slider.

The flexibility and lightness of of the gear was perfect for this ‘run & gun’ type shoot. There was so much to capture over a large site, we had to travel light!

In the end, we spend 12 hours filming…TWELVE!

A massive shoot, but we were having such a good time: outside in the sunshine, meeting wonderful people and doing the job we love.

Our client Rachel was so welcoming and helpful, she made us feel a part of the New Barns community. And when we were done shooting, she let us have a go on the zip line…

We are really looking forward to working with Rachel and Jen again, and returning to New Barns in the future; and we cannot wait to share the final video.
